As we move forward with the Manorrock Sustainability Initiative, I am pleased to share a significant milestone: all non-Piranha projects now have their GitHub issues created, and we are actively working with volunteers to migrate several of these projects to their new homes. This collaborative effort is a testament to the strength and dedication of our community, and I want to thank everyone who has stepped up to help ensure the long-term sustainability of these projects.
For those new to this initiative, our goal has been to address the challenge of maintaining a diverse and growing ecosystem by inviting passionate developers to take ownership of projects they value. As part of this process, non-Piranha projects are transitioning to new maintainers and will undergo a namespace change, while the Manorrock branding remains with Manorrock.com. We continue to provide guidance and support to make these transitions as smooth as possible.
The timeline remains as previously announced:
If you are interested in maintaining a project, please look for the GitHub issue in the relevant repository, express your interest, and share your vision for the project’s future. We are looking for maintainers who are committed, excited about guiding the project, and willing to manage the namespace transition.
On the Piranha front, I am excited to announce that Piranha has been formally proposed as an Eclipse project. The community review is now underway, following the Eclipse Foundation’s established process. You can track the proposal and review progress at https://projects.eclipse.org/proposals/eclipse-piranha-cloud. This is an important step for Piranha, and we are optimistic about its future within the Eclipse ecosystem.
Thank you again to everyone who has contributed to this initiative. Your support and involvement are what make the Manorrock ecosystem vibrant and sustainable. We will continue to provide regular updates as the process moves forward.
Thank you for your continued support of the Manorrock ecosystem.
