Introduction

If you want to run JSF on Glassfish 2.x you will need to do some configuring to make it work, below you'll see how you can get it to work for you.

Solution

This solution assumes that you want to overrie the old container shipped version of JSF with a newer JSF 2.x release.

• Copy the jsf-api.jar and the jsp-impl.jar into $GLASSFISH_ROOT/lib directory.
• Edit the domain.xml file for any domain you have and make sure that your classpath prefix has a reference to the JSF API jar file in there. E.g. classpath-prefix="${com.sun.aas.installRoot}/lib/jsf-api.jar"
